In 1962, a love story became a business story when a young tree trimmer, Tony Mastrocco Sr. and his fiancée, Ann Branci, who worked at a furniture store saw an opportunity. Using his stake body truck from his tree service business, they began delivering furniture on evenings and weekends. The work quickly proved more appealing than tree trimming, leading to the purchase of their first dedicated moving van. Within three years, they had expanded to three trucks, establishing their base in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood before moving to Northeast, Philadelphia
These formative years saw the development of the company's core values and service standards. Working with family members, particularly nephews and brothers-in-law, they built a reputation for reliability and care. The business focused on local moving services and retail furniture delivery developing methodical approaches to furniture handling that would become hallmarks of their service.
The business entered a new phase when the founder's son, Tony Jr., joined full-time after high school. This additional leadership enabled the acquisition of their first warehouse, a strategic move that opened doors to the designer furniture trade. They began receiving and inspecting furniture for interior decorators, architects, and showrooms adding a new dimension to their services while maintaining their moving operations.
1989 marked a visible transformation with a rebranding from the original blue to distinctive red, green, and gold colors. The addition of Anthony's younger brother Nicky further strengthened the family business, enabling more growth. During this period, the company elevated its service profile, increasingly handling high-end residential moves while building relationships with Philadelphia's most prominent families, businesses, and luxury high-rise buildings.
Today, Mastrocco Movers stands as Philadelphia's premier moving service, operating 19 trucks and three warehouses with a team of 50 employees. Their business model balances high-end residential moving and storage with designer trade services, each representing 50% of operations. Operating without advertising, they've built their reputation entirely through referrals and repeat business, serving everyone from everyday families to celebrities, athletes, and politicians. Spanning three generations, their commitment to quality remains unchanged - every customer receives the same meticulous care that built their reputation over 60 years.

These guys did a COMPLETE move for us from PA/NJ to NYC and words can't describe how professional and efficient they were. If you are like me, you DREAD moving and the typical shifty movers that come along with it. My perception has been forever changed from my experience with these guys. I kept hearing they were "the best" and now I know why. From the moment Mastrocco movers arrived I felt like they took control, re-packed what was not packed as well as it could have been and treated each box of furniture and goods with care. If you want QUALITY, hire these guys. When we arrived to my new home, they placed each box where it needed to go and assembled furniture with the extra time they had. Super kind, trust worthy and great people. Go ahead and hire cheaper movers or off craigslist if you are looking to have your stuff thrown around, get over charged for nothing and feel helpless in a sea of boxes ....but if want organization and true HELP these guys are hands down TOP NOTCH. Thank you Mastrocco moving for all you did for us!
My husband & I are beyond elated that we hired A. Mastrocco. Our neighbors use them all the time and when they arrived today to move us our neighbor immediately said "they are the best." My husband is an engineer and knows the importance of logistics, time, and money and he was beyond impressed with the movers and how efficiently they worked. They took excellent care of our furniture wrapping pieces under 22 seconds and protected all of our furniture from the rain. They work very well as a team watching each others back and were very professional & polite. They were kind enough to lift our queen bed frame with mattress so our rug could be laid down under it as I had forgotten to ask while they were putting together the bed. All of our furniture was placed in the new house exactly where we asked. We loved the strength and energy of the team. We watch every penny we spend and the cost of this move was well worth every penny. It was the most stress free move ever & we will only use A Mastrocco only in the future and already told our friends and family!
I hired Mastrocco Movers to help me move a very awkward piece as we cleaned out my parents home. I was determined to do everything myself but I soon realized that trying to move one of my father's printing presses that weighed 1/2 ton would likely put me in a hospital. I called Mastrocco knowing that I was at their mercy and actually spoke with the company owner Tony who was courteous and caring. He sent out men quickly to and they got the job done. They were great! Since it was an odd unit and I needed it done quickly I was told that they could not give me a price up front and I was left having to trust they would not take advantage of my situation. They didn't, their price was more than fair and I would use them again in a heartbeat. They are simply good people and great movers. It is rare to find that old fashioned service and family attitude, but they have it.
I got a very competitive quote from Tony, it was not the cheapest quote to move but was in the ballpark. We chose Mastrocco Moving & Storage because of the way Tony handled the quoting process and knowing they were just moving our stuff and not having us share a truck with another job. It seems that many of the national chain moving companies will have you share space with other jobs and give you a wide window of days as to when they will actually deliver your furniture. Tony had his crew at our house on a Friday morning and got us all packed up by early evening. He had 2 drivers and trucks drop our stuff off 3 days later in Florida on a Monday morning, the day we settled on our new house, just as we had asked The timing and professionalism of the movers could not have been better. Mastrocco Moving & Storage eased the stress we felt about the move and delivered on every point. No complaints, couldn't be happier with the results.
I have used Mastrocco 3 times now. They are nothing short of wonderful. Polite, courteous, professional, efficient, friendly, neat, hard working, and strong. I highly recommend them.
The absolute best!! Very careful and competent staff. They are the only company I have used for furniture delivery and I wouldn't use anyone else. They know what they are doing.
I used this company in June 2012 for packing and moving. It was the first time I ever had a company pack for me. It was worth every penny. The guys weren't very pleasant but they did a great job.
I have used other movers in the area but Tyler and his crew took the stress away from my moving day. They were on time, professional and efficient. I had two very tough loft beds that needed to be disassembled and reassembled in the new place. Not only did the process go very smoothly but they added some wood screws into my bed to strengthen it, which was above and beyond the call of duty. I was very pleased my move took 6.5 hours end to end.
We just completed a move for my in laws and A Mastrocco moving is the best moving and storage company we ever used. My career required me to move six times and two personal moves. Without a doubt Mastrocco was the best. The moving team led by Tom was professional, courteous and extremely polite when dealing with my in laws who are in their mid-eighties. Not only did they pack everything with care, they also unpacked and took away the empty boxes and paper. In the end we had no damaged goods. They also came in under budget. I would highly recommend using A. Mastrocco Jr moving and storage.
We just moved from the Lehigh Valley to Warrington, and we will recommend Mastrocco Moving & Storage to anyone needing to move. It took two trucks and six hard working men to get us here, and each man was a pleasure to work with. All our furniture was handled carefully, and even our grandfather clock arrived in working order. This moving company was the best we have ever used, and we have used a number of movers in the past.
